The Language We Use

youmightlikeThe language we use may not always be appropriate. I noticed this today when I was watching the live coverage of the Hudson River Plane Crash. This is a screen grab from Chicago Tribune’s website. I think it’s important that we take note of the language we decide to use. It may not be appropriate for every instance. While it is difficult to design for ever possible outcome, surely we should design for the WORST possible scenereo, this is for sure one to consider in the future.

Oh boy – that is definitely not appropriate! I am going to guess that most news feeds should avoid a title of a headline feed to be “you might like” given how often news headlines are of that context… Definitely something to think about with projects!

Of COURSE they are. Just be honest about it. No one cares/
